Verify your certificate of analysis

Match the batch number on your label to its certificate of analysis.

Every product we ship carries a batch number on its label. This page explains how to check that number against its certificate of analysis, and how to ask us to confirm a batch you have in hand.

Where to find the batch number

On vials, the batch number is printed in the LOT line on the side of the label, next to the fill and expiry dates. On spray bottles it is printed on the base of the bottle, and on strip cartons it is on the bottom flap. The same number appears on your packing slip.

What a certificate of analysis shows

A certificate of analysis records the identity and purity results for one batch. Identity is usually confirmed by mass spectrometry, which checks that the measured molecular weight matches the expected sequence. Purity is reported by HPLC as the share of the target compound against related impurities. Our quality and COA page explains each section in more detail, and the research guide covers how to read the results.

How to verify your batch

  1. Find the batch number on the product label or packing slip.
  2. Check that the compound name and size on the certificate match the label.
  3. Confirm the batch number on the certificate matches the number on the label exactly.
  4. Check the test date sits before the fill date and the expiry date has not passed.

If anything does not match, stop using the material and contact us before you continue your work.

Ask us to confirm a batch

Send the product name, size, batch number and your order number, ideally with a clear photo of the label. We will confirm whether the batch is ours and send the matching certificate. You can email talkto@peptidereferencelab.com or use the form below.
